Regarding North Boulder Pilates Opening
May 15th
Interested in Pilates to help recover from
an injury or to improve your fitness level?
Is your instructor safe and qualified?
Pilates, one of the fastest growing fitness
activities in the country, is a form of exercise
that engages the musculature of the neck and
spine. With this being said it is essential
that clients work with qualified instructors,
especially if you have an injury. If Pilates
is not practiced correctly clients increase
their risk of injury or can cause further
damage to pre-existing injuries. Working with
properly trained instructors who have specialized
rehabilitation backgrounds insures the client’s
safety and the effectiveness of their exercise.
According to an article posted in the March
15th 2005 issue of the Wall Street Journal,
“this popular exercise method lacks
trained teachers” due to the increasing
interest and participation, and therefore
some instructors may be “hazardous to
your health”. North Boulder Pilates,
a sister studio to North Boulder Physical
Therapy owned by Debra Layne, PT, will open
to the public on May 15th 2007. Our objective
as a Pilates studio is to offer quality instruction
to both rehabilitation and fitness level populations,
specializing in Pilates for orthopedic conditions.
North Boulder Pilates prides itself on the
background of its instructors and its rehabilitation
foundation. Of our six certified instructors,
four are practicing Physical Therapists, and
the other two have extensive experience in
clinical rehabilitation. North Boulder Pilates
is confident in the level and accreditation
of training that our instructors have achieved
which can provide improvement and progress
towards your specific goals. Please see our
web site for details at www.northboulderpilates.com
